The Need
Deeply experienced leaders. A scarce resource: time that actually delivers something new.
The Google GSV Fellowship convenes a highly selective cohort of senior system leaders spanning urban and rural systems, small and large districts, and district and charter environments.
These leaders are deeply experienced. Time away from their systems is scarce, and generic leadership content rarely delivers insight they can bring back and use with their teams.
Every minute of the convening needed to deliver clear, practical insight they could apply immediately.
The Approach
We started by listening — then designed a session that met leaders exactly where they were.
We reviewed participant materials, analyzed pre-session survey data, and spoke directly with a sample of superintendents to better understand their needs. This groundwork informed a fast-paced, highly engaging session built around four elements:
Experiential exercises grounded in real leadership dilemmas
"Movie Endings" — recognizable patterns of how change efforts quietly break down
Facilitated peer dialogue
Intentional debriefs that connected insights directly to their own teams
